Celebrating success in anticoagulation care and management, the awards were first launched in 2017, to recognise teams and individuals across secondary, primary and community services who can demonstrate innovation and excellence in delivering anticoagulation services, resources or individual leadership. Finalists are selected from entries from across the UK.
Hosted by Lyn Brown MP, Chair of the All-Party Group for Thrombosis, and supporting the global, World Thrombosis Day, the award ceremony will be held in the House of Commons on 10 October 2018 when the winners will be announced.
At LumiraDx Care Solutions, home of INRstar, we are proud to be supporting the Anticoagulation Achievement Awards again this year:
Ben Townend, Anticoagulation Product Manager for INRstar says:
“It’s really exciting to see the innovations and best practice that services are working on to provide patients with better treatment and information about their condition.
These awards give us the chance to congratulate all those who work so hard to deliver better outcomes for patients on anticoagulation therapy and to see the impact of that.”
Organisers of the awards, representing leading charities Thrombosis UK, Anticoagulation UK, AF Association and Arrhythmia Alliance and national training establishments, Anticoagulation in Practice, and National Centre for Anticoagulation Training commented:
“1 in 4 people worldwide die of conditions caused by blood clots, also known by the medical term “thrombosis”– the underlying cause of the world’s top three cardiovascular killers: heart attack, stroke and venous thromboembolism (VTE).
“There is overwhelming clinical evidence, embedded in approved national guidelines, to support prevention, protection and improved patient outcomes and experience.
“We hope these awards will not only recognise the outstanding work of the medical centres, teams and individuals involved, but also act as a learning resource for others.”
