Thrombosis is a growing global concern and Thrombosis UK are working hard to raise awareness of venous thromboembolism (VTE) through a national campaign called ‘Let’s Talk Clots’. This includes a series of conferences being held across the UK throughout May 2018.
The South West event, held at Bristol and Bath Science Park on the 2 May, will bring together a range of clinical experts discussing prevention and management of VTE, including the management of anticoagulation therapy.
Dr Matthew Fay FRCP Edin, Trustee, Thrombosis UK says,
“VTE prevention and treatment remains a Cinderella subject for healthcare, despite the ongoing harm it causes our population. This programme is of interest to both those in hospital-based care and also those working in the community, to understand the best options to assess risk of VTE, minimise this risk and if a thrombosis were to develop how to identify and treat it. It is rare for a year to pass within general practice where a person will not come to harm from the consequence of VTE, this meeting hopes to raise the awareness to minimise this risk to our patients.”
LumiraDx Care Solutions is the home of INRstar, the UK market-leading clinical decision support software for anticoagulation and is proud to be supporting these meetings which contribute to the continued improvement in anticoagulation management.
Six meetings for healthcare professionals will be held across the UK as well as four meetings for patients and carers which will provide support, information and education.
