INRstar analytics was commissioned at Surrey Pathology Services in June 2015 to support the community based anticoagulation service of North West Surrey Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) across 14 treatment locations. The software gives the Service Lead dramatically quicker, easy access to patient information and statistics across a population area, enhancing the service and flagging up areas for review. INRstar analytics provides an instant overview of INRstar location activity across an area meaning that valuable clinician hours are not wasted collecting and processing individual data sets.
North West Surrey CCG rolled out their community based Point of Care monitoring of patients on INR treatment, (previously provided by Ashford & St Peters Hospitals) as a hospital anticoagulation service using laboratory testing. This near patient testing assisted ease of attendance for patients across the area. Surrey Pathology Service won the contract to provide governance and clinical support for the service.
The Surrey Pathology Services chose INRstar analytics to monitor the complexities of the community based service and in order to undertake clinical audits quickly and efficiently and to review and report on population management.
Surrey Pathology Service covers over 14 treatment locations, so it was imperative to find a new solution with frequent review and reporting capabilities.
Berni Mallo is Pathology Business Manager at Surrey Pathology Services and explains:
“Using INRstar is straightforward and the team at INRstar are really helpful. INRstar is easy to use and INRstar analytics helps us to submit quality figures quickly and easily as it enables us to collect information across the area from the different treatment locations. This really reduces burden on the central team as it is so streamlined. The community nurses enter the information into INRstar and using INRstar analytics, we can look at the required data more frequently.”
“We also use the solution for reporting and to monitor delivery and quality. Our Lead can access the information quickly and easily to gauge the status of delivery across the area and offer help and support where necessary.”
