When the Bush Doctors in Shepherds Bush, London found their old anticoagulation software was not meeting requirements, and when NHS Hammersmith and Fulham CCG sanctioned a move to INRstar across the area, the practice were delighted with the move. The practice migrated to INRstar in order to benefit from enhanced functionality, including an interface to its clinical system SystmOne and the management of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs). The practice had a successful migration which was overseen by INRstar’s team of experts. INRstar’s software provides advanced support for nurse-led clinics in both primary and secondary care and currently supports around 2,500 clinics.
INRstar is the UK market leader for anticoagulation management software interfaces to SystmOne and other major clinical systems, which benefits users by saving time and eliminating data entry errors. The Bush Doctors’ surgery in Shepherds Bush provides high quality healthcare to patients in the area and is part of NHS Hammersmith and Fulham CCG. The surgery has around 70 active patients within its anticoagulation clinic and holds two surgeries a week.
“I was really pleased that INRstar had the required functionality to manage the direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs), which our previous system was unable to do. With INRstar I am now able to run the correct audit on DOACs, which are requested by interval. With the introduction of DOACs, it is vital that patients are monitored when they switch to the new medication, and INRstar gives me the confidence that I am doing just that.”
Vanessa Andreae, Practice Nurse at the Bush Doctors
The migration from the practice’s old solution to INRstar was carried out over night and was extremely successful.
Vanessa explains:
“It could not have been easier. I had to download a certificate; the team at INRstar supported remotely, and migrated all the patients over to the new system. Our previous system was really old, with old treatment plans. We now find that with the new interface from INRstar to SystmOne, we save time and we are really pleased with the new system.”
“In addition, the DOAC monitoring available within INRstar is really important, as it helps to support patient safety. I am able to keep track on patients and to monitor any side effects so that we can deal with any anomalies. I am delighted with INRstar and really pleased with the easy migration.”
